This upcoming title from indie developer Codebros Studio blends unsettling gameplay with a story that digs deep into grief, memory, and the supernatural.

You step into the shoes of Jason, a man who moves into a new house only to discover it’s haunted by disturbing visions and a tragic past. As you explore, you uncover the mystery of a family that vanished without explanation, and a hidden door that reveals secrets meant to stay buried.

What makes Unmourned stand out is its focus on atmosphere over cheap scares. You and I know how frustrating it can be when horror games rely too heavily on predictable jump scares. Here, tension builds gradually through mechanics like the Random Event System, which ensures no two playthroughs are the same, and the Sanity System, where staying in the dark too long weakens your grip on reality. Paranormal activity intensifies as your sanity fades, making every moment feel unpredictable.

The tools at your disposal are equally eerie. A night vision camera helps you navigate pitch‑black corridors, while a photographic camera reveals hidden truths when the lights go out. These mechanics force you to interact with the environment in creative ways, heightening the sense of dread.

The game isn’t short either. With a runtime of 6–10 hours, Unmourned offers more content than many indie horror titles. Flashbacks let you play as past characters, adding depth to the narrative, and multiple endings encourage replayability.
