Where Winds Meet hit over two million players in its first 24 hours after launch. Developer Everstone Studio shared the figures in a social media update, confirming that the free‑to‑play wuxia RPG has quickly become one of the hottest new titles on the market.
On Steam, Where Winds Meet broke into the top seven best‑sellers and the top five most‑played games, recording a peak of 193,860 concurrent players just two days after launch, as per SteamDB.
Meanwhile, PlayStation 5 players also contributed to the surge, with the game ranking among the top three best‑sellers in seven regions.
What makes this milestone even more impressive is the fact that the game is completely free to play.

The strong player count is backed by an equally strong reception. On Steam, Where Winds Meet currently holds a “Very Positive” rating, with nearly 16,000 reviews praising its visuals, expansive world, and fluid combat. According to community discussions, the game’s monetisation is focused on cosmetics rather than pay‑to‑win mechanics, which has helped reassure players diving in for the first time.
"We are thrilled to see such a positive reception for Where Winds Meet from players around the world," said Beralt Lyu, Lead Producer. "Looking ahead, our team is committed to listening to feedback from our global player community and continuously improving the game. We will also continue to deliver high-quality seasonal updates, bringing more captivating narrative, fresh game modes, and new exploration content to the exciting Jianghu."
