Witchbrook Finally Gets Winter 2025 Release Date After 8-Year Wait

Witchbrook

After nearly a decade of development, Chucklefish's magical life simulation game Witchbrook has finally received an official release window. The cozy wizard school adventure will launch in Winter 2025 for PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox, including a day-one Game Pass release.

First teased back in 2016 under the name "Project Spellbound," Witchbrook was officially announced in 2017, drawing immediate comparisons to the popular farming simulator Stardew Valley. In 2020, developers shifted to an isometric view for the game, but news had been relatively quiet until recent Nintendo Direct presentation.

Players can experience the adventure solo or team up with up to three friends in online cooperative multiplayer.

The game promises a rich magical experience in the Witchbrook College where players can learn new spells and abilities to help themselves and the local community. Between attending classes, players can renovate a woodland cottage, tend to gardens, forge friendships, pursue romantic relationships, create and sell crafts, and participate in seasonal events throughout the game world.

Nintendo Direct presentation also featured first looks at Metroid Prime 4: Beyond gameplay, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and a new Tomodachi Life game planned for 2026.
