Meta and Xbox could be preparing to take their ongoing partnership a step further with the release of an Xbox-branded version of the Meta Quest 3S virtual reality headset. A new report hints at an upcoming hardware collaboration that blends Meta’s VR technology with Xbox’s gaming ecosystem.

According to Kevin Lopez of Game Sandwich, Meta is expected to unveil the Xbox Quest 3S on Tuesday, June 24, with a retail price of $399. So far, no official confirmation has been made by either company.

The headset will reportedly sport a distinctive black and green Xbox-themed design, and it won’t come alone. Buyers may also receive a matching Xbox wireless controller, an Elite Strap, and a three-month subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

The headset is said to feature 128GB of storage, aligning it with the base version of the standard Meta Quest 3S. Internally, there are no major hardware changes—this is essentially a repackaged Meta Quest 3S with Xbox branding and bonus perks.

That said, Kevin Lopez does have a recent track record of accurate leaks. He previously revealed information related to the announcement of Deadpool VR at Summer Game Fest and the release date for the remastered Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, lending some credibility to this latest claim.

This potential Xbox Quest 3S release also fits neatly into Xbox’s broader strategy. In recent weeks, Xbox has made headlines for its continued push into third-party hardware partnerships. Just earlier this month, ASUS revealed the ROG Ally X Xbox Edition. These handheld devices are a part of Xbox’s larger “This is an Xbox” campaign, which aims to expand the brand beyond traditional consoles. Earlier this week, Xbox and AMD revealed a strategic multi-year partnership aimed at enabling gamers to play their games on any device.

It’s worth noting, however, that this new Xbox-branded Quest headset won’t magically make VR-native versions of Xbox games like Starfield or Forza Motorsport available. Instead, users will still rely on Xbox Cloud Gaming to stream these titles, just like they currently do on other Quest devices.
