Microsoft has rolled out the first wave of titles for Xbox Game Pass in July 2025, offering a mix of new launches, returning hits, and retro gems for players across all tiers.

Let’s break down the Wave 1 lineup with quick details for each game:


Available Now (July 1)

  • Little Nightmares II (Cloud, Console, and PC)

    • A suspenseful puzzle-platformer set in a twisted world filled with creepy creatures. Play as Mono and join Six to uncover dark secrets.

  • Rise of the Tomb Raider (Cloud, Console, and PC)

    • Lara Croft’s second outing in the rebooted trilogy, packed with action, puzzles, and breathtaking tomb exploration.

Coming July 2

  • Legend of Mana (Console)

    • A remastered action RPG from Square Enix with a whimsical art style, customizable world maps, and classic JRPG combat.

  • Trials of Mana (Console)

    • A full 3D remake of the 1995 SNES RPG. Players can choose their party and dive into a fantasy adventure full of magic and action.

Coming July 3

  • Ultimate Chicken Horse (Cloud, Console, and PC)

    • A chaotic platformer where you and friends build the level as you play — and then try to survive it.

Coming July 8

  • The Ascent (Cloud, Console, and PC)

    • A cyberpunk twin-stick action RPG with both solo and co-op modes. Dive into a gritty futuristic city controlled by mega-corporations.

Coming July 9

  • Minami Lane (Cloud, Console, and PC)

    • A cozy sim where you design and grow a peaceful Japanese street. It's all about aesthetics, calm vibes, and community management.

Coming July 11 (Day-One Launch)

  • Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 (Cloud, Console, and PC)

    • The iconic skateboarding games return in a modern remake, complete with new visuals, tight controls, and even the Doom Slayer as a playable character (Deluxe Edition). Early access starts July 8 for some players.

Returning July 15

  • High On Life (Cloud, Console, and PC)

    • A bizarre and hilarious FPS from Justin Roiland’s Squanch Games, featuring talking guns and absurd alien worlds. It was a Game Pass favorite in 2022, and it’s back just in time for the sequel hype.

Retro Classics via Antstream Arcade

Microsoft and Antstream Arcade continue their retro game revival, offering classic Activision titles from the '80s and '90s. This month’s batch includes:

  • Cosmic Commuter – An old-school side-scrolling space travel game.

  • Heart of China – A point-and-click adventure set in 1930s Asia.

  • Skiing – Simple yet addictive downhill skiing action.

  • Solar Storm – Space shooter action straight from the Atari era.

  • Subterranea – Navigate underground mazes in this retro sci-fi shooter.

Games Leaving Xbox Game Pass on July 15
