According to a new report, eight Xbox-owned games are allegedly being prepped for launch on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
The information comes from Nash Weedle, a Spanish leaker with a mixed—but sometimes accurate—track record when it comes to Nintendo-related news. Weedle claims that Sea of Thieves will be the first announced title, with an official confirmation expected sometime this year.
Here’s the full list of Xbox titles reportedly making their way to Nintendo’s next-gen hardware:
Sea of Thieves
DOOM: The Dark Ages
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
Ninja Gaiden 4
Psychonauts 2
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
Age of Empires: Definitive Edition
Call of Duty 6 (likely referring to Black Ops 6, released in 2024)
While the release windows for these games are unclear, most of them are either confirmed for PS5 (Indiana Jones and the Great Circle) or strongly rumored (Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II) to be heading there—suggesting that Switch 2 ports are highly likely, especially given the improved hardware.
Speaking of that hardware, Switch 2 is shaping up to be a major leap forward. Nvidia, who is once again powering the system, claims it delivers “10x the graphics performance” of the original Switch. That’s not just marketing fluff—Firaxis Games, currently working on Civilization VII, has already praised the system’s capabilities.
“We were able to make this look like a mid-tier PC, because it’s got enough power,” said lead designer Ed Beach in a Game File interview. The graphics team was reportedly “extremely happy” with what the system could handle.
It’s also worth noting that Microsoft has already been testing the waters with Nintendo platforms. In 2024, they brought titles like Grounded and Pentiment to the Switch—both of which were previously Xbox exclusives.
This is all part of Microsoft’s evolving strategy. Rather than walling off content, Xbox has been shifting toward a third-party publishing powerhouse model—especially after acquiring major studios like Bethesda and Activision Blizzard. Xbox games now regularly appear on PlayStation, and Nintendo's powerful hardware appears to be the next big focus.
The goal? Maximize revenue across platforms while still delivering added value to Game Pass subscribers and maintaining core exclusives for Xbox consoles.
As for the Switch 2 itself, Nintendo has officially confirmed a June 2025 release window, with over 30 first- and third-party titles launching alongside it. With the original Switch selling over 150 million units since its debut in 2017, expectations are sky-high for the next generation.
