Yangon Galacticos have claimed the championship title at the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025 (PMWC 2025), held as part of the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Myanmar squad didn’t begin their campaign as frontrunners. After missing out on a top 8 finish in the Group Stage, Yangon Galacticos were pushed into the high-pressure Survival Stage. Here, they barely scraped through, finishing eighth out of 16 teams with exactly 70 points—just one point ahead of INFLUENCE RAGE, who fell short at 69 points.
This narrow qualification made them one of the least likely teams to contend for the trophy, but they took that underdog label and flipped the script.
Dominance in the Grand Finals
The Grand Finals, held from August 1–3, revealed a completely rejuvenated version of Yangon Galacticos. Led by players Smile, Marnett, Romeo, and SAYCLOUD, the team stepped up in the biggest moment.
Across 18 matches, they secured 157 points, grabbing four Winner Winner Chicken Dinners (WWCDs) in Games 2, 6, 8, and 10. Their consistency was unmatched. They ended Day 1 at the top with 67 points and kept their lead on Day 2, reaching 118 points.
This triggered the Smash Rule on Day 3, which required any team crossing 128 points to win a WWCD to claim the title. Yangon Galacticos hit that mark and delivered the winning blow to secure the trophy.
Myanmar's First PMWC Champions
This victory is historic—not just for the players, but for Myanmar’s esports community as a whole. Yangon Galacticos had earlier booked their PMWC 2025 spot by winning PMCL SEA Summer 2025, but few expected them to go this far.
From regional winners to world champions, the team has placed Southeast Asia firmly on the global PUBG Mobile map.
