This marks the fourth year since the award was introduced in 2023, and the lineup for 2026 is a mix of blockbuster franchises and creative new entries. The nominees include Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Star Wars Outlaws, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – Secrets of the Spire, Sword of the Sea, and yes, even Helldivers 2.

Now, you might be wondering how Helldivers 2 made the cut when the game itself launched earlier. The answer lies in Grammy eligibility rules. The soundtrack, composed by Wilbert Roget II, was officially released on September 20, 2024, which falls neatly within the eligibility window of August 31, 2024, to August 30, 2025. That timing gave it a chance to compete this year. Similarly, expansions for Avatar and Star Wars Outlaws qualified because their story content dropped during the same period.

The full list of nominees is:

  • Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – Secrets of the Spire (Pinar Toprak)

  • Helldivers 2 (Wilbert Roget II)

  • Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (Gordy Haab)

  • Star Wars Outlaws: Wild Card & A Pirate’s Fortune (Cody Matthew Johnson & Wilbert Roget II)

  • Sword of the Sea (Austin Wintory)

Looking back, this category has already produced some memorable winners. In 2023, Stephanie Economou won for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok. The following year, Stephen Barton and Gordy Haab took home the award for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. And in 2025, Winifred Phillips claimed victory with Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord.

The 68th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on February 1, 2026, and we’ll finally see which of these soundtracks takes home the prize.
