In its latest financial report, Take-Two Interactive has officially confirmed that two new WWE games are currently in development: WWE 2K26 and WWE 2K Mobile. The announcement follows the critical and commercial success of WWE 2K25, which marked a continued return to form for the once-troubled franchise.
WWE 2K Release Roadmap
Here’s what we know so far about upcoming WWE 2K projects:
✅ WWE 2K Switch 2 Port – Summer 2025
Platforms: Nintendo Switch 2
First WWE title on a Nintendo platform since WWE 2K18 (2017)
The game is expected to bring updated gameplay mechanics and new features tailored for the console
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick officially confirmed the port in presentation
📱 WWE 2K Mobile – Fall 2025
Platforms: Mobile (exclusively for Netflix subscribers)
Gameplay: Still under wraps, but expected to feature an arcade-style or streamlined wrestling experience
Strategy: Aligns with Netflix’s shift toward family-friendly or AAA-adjacent mobile titles
🥇 WWE 2K26 – Fiscal Year 2026
Expected Release: By March 31, 2026 (likely March, based on prior launches)
Platforms: Not yet confirmed, but speculation suggests PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and possibly Nintendo Switch 2
Reveal Window: Most likely during Royal Rumble 2026 in January, continuing the series' tradition
WWE 2K25 Keeps the Momentum Going
2K’s wrestling franchise rebounded impressively following the disastrous WWE 2K20. The past four mainline entries—2K22 through 2K25—have earned positive reviews, with WWE 2K25 reaching a series-high Metacritic score of 84 on Xbox Series X.
Highlights from WWE 2K25:
The Island: A new WWE-themed sandbox mode with quests, live events, and upgradeable MySUPERSTARs
The Bloodline Dynasty Showcase: A story mode hosted by Paul Heyman featuring iconic moments from Roman Reigns, The Rock, and Yokozuna
Gameplay Additions: Intergender matches, Underground mode, and Bloodline Rules
New Wave Pack DLC: Adds Stephanie Vaquer, Giulia, Motor City Machine Guns, and 40+ new moves
According to Zelnick, recurrent consumer spending for the franchise is up 20%, with WWE SuperCard also achieving near-record Net Bookings in March. The WWE 2K brand has even crossed over into WWE television programming, with WWE 2K25 co-sponsoring WrestleMania 41.
"Consumer appetite for the franchise is growing," Zelnick said, thanking WWE President Nick Khan and TKO Group for their support in raising the bar.
