If you’ve been waiting to jump into Riot Games’ new fighter, the wait is almost over. 2XKO officially launches today with Season 1 on January 20-21, bringing console ports, a new champion, new features, and a fresh Battle Pass to kick things off.
The League of Legends-inspired free-to-play 2v2 brawler is moving beyond its PC-only early access phase and will now be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S alongside Windows PC, making this the first unified season for all players.
During early access, 2XKO featured a roster of 11 champions:
Ahri
Blitzcrank
Braum
Darius
Ekko
Illaoi
Jinx
Teemo
Vi
Warwick
Yasuo
With Season 1, Caitlyn joins as the 12th playable champion, adding her sharpshooting flair to the lineup.
As per Riot’s official announcement, Season 1 also marks the "full release" of the game.
2XKO Season 1 and Console Global Release Times:
Los Angeles, USA (PT): Jan. 20 at 5 pm
Chicago, USA (CT): Jan. 20 at 7 pm
New York, USA (ET): Jan. 20 at 8 pm

Seoul, South Korea (KST): Jan. 21 at 10 am
Tokyo, Japan (JST): Jan. 21 at 10 am
Sydney, Australia (AEDT): Jan. 21 at 12 pm
These times may shift slightly due to scheduled maintenance, which Riot confirmed will run from 11 am to 8 pm CT on Jan. 20. Players can still access offline mode during this downtime if they’ve logged in at least once before.
One of the biggest highlights of the launch is cross-platform play and cross-progression. Riot is positioning 2XKO as a connected ecosystem where progress carries over seamlessly between PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
Any champions, cosmetics, or unlocks earned during early access will also remain intact.
Season 1 also introduces a three-tier Battle Pass system, replacing the Standard, Deluxe, and Ultra tracks from Season 0. The tiers include:
Free Track: Chromacrash Warwick skin, avatar items, stickers, emotes, player cards, and XP boosts.
Premium Track: Chromacrash skins for Ekko, Jinx, and Caitlyn, plus a new Piltover stage, outfits, taunts, and more.
Ultra Track: Exclusive Arcane Caitlyn skin with unique audio-visual effects, bonus chromas, and rare emotes.

While Riot has yet to confirm pricing, past models suggest the Premium tier could cost around $10 and the Ultra tier around $35.
Progression will be straightforward, with XP earned through matches, daily missions, and weekly objectives (reset every Thursday from January 29).
Season 1 is expected to run for roughly two months, giving players ample time to unlock rewards.
Looking ahead, Riot has already teased a competitive roadmap stretching into 2026, including a 20-event circuit and TO-focused support.
Season 1 introduces Frame Perfect, a competitive-themed skin set where a portion of proceeds will support tournament organizers worldwide. This includes funding prize pools and production costs for future events. The first set features Frame Perfect Ahri and Frame Perfect Ekko, available for a limited time starting Jan. 29.
Riot also clarified that instead of five seasons in 2026, the game will shift to three seasons, reducing resets while still delivering new Battle Passes and Ranked updates. Champion releases remain on track, with five planned for 2026. Caitlyn leads the charge, and the second champion of the year will also arrive during Season 1.
