The Streamer Awards, founded by QTCinderella in 2022, quickly became one of the biggest annual events for online creators. It was designed to give streamers and content creators the recognition they often felt was missing from mainstream award shows. Over the years, the event has grown in scale and influence, with fans eagerly awaiting each new edition.

This year’s nominees were revealed on November 17, but the announcement sparked controversy. Some critics claimed the awards weren’t truly fan-voted and alleged that certain popular but “problematic” streamers were excluded. The backlash hit QT hard, leading her to tearfully admit, “It’s just so frustrating. I’m doing my f***ing best over here. I’m just so tired. I’m tired of crying.”

Adin Ross, who had previously teased a Kick-hosted version of the awards alongside Asmongold, stepped in to support QT. He acknowledged the pressure she faces, suggesting that sponsors may be influencing nominee selections. “I do feel bad for QTCinderella though, I ain’t gonna lie. She’s getting pressure from her sponsors to choose pre-selected people, most likely. Allegedly. That’s what I’ve been hearing,” Ross said (via Dexerto).

“Everyone is mad at her, she’s breaking down, and I feel her, bro. She’s not going to make everyone happy. Twitch really needs to be the one throwing the show.”

Ross also revealed why his Kick version of the awards won’t move forward. According to him, Kick boss Eddie Craven declined to fund the project, leaving Ross unwilling to cover the costs himself. “Eddie does not want to cover the Kick awards anymore, so we are not doing my version of it anymore,” he explained. “It’s going to cost a lot of money, so I’m not going to pay out of my pocket for that.”

Despite shutting down his plans, Ross left the door open for the future, saying funding would need to be “figured out” before he revisits the idea. Interestingly, QTCinderella herself had been supportive of Adin and Asmongold’s rival concept, noting that they could create a “unique product” with different categories.

For now, The Streamer Awards 2025 remains QT’s show, and while the controversy has cast a shadow over the nominations, the event continues to be a major platform for recognizing the streaming community.
