April kicks off strong with XCOM: Enemy Unknown Complete Pack. Developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K Games, the base game originally launched back in October 2012. The Complete Pack bundles in the Enemy Within expansion, which added new enemies, soldier augmentations, and additional story content. It earned Metacritic scores in the high 80s to 90s range and is widely considered a modern classic in turn-based tactical strategy. If you have never played it, this is a great opportunity.
Alongside it, Total War: Pharaoh Dynasties offers a hefty grand strategy experience set during the Bronze Age Collapse. According to reviews, it landed a Metacritic score of 83 and holds a "Very Positive" rating on Steam at around 80%. Creative Assembly did solid work here, and it stands as one of the stronger recent entries in the historical Total War lineup.
The week of April 9 brings two very different games. A Rat's Quest: The Way Back Home is a cinematic action-adventure platformer with a Romeo and Juliet-style story involving a rat named Mat and a pet mouse named Nat. It is charming, surprisingly emotional, and plays with hybrid perspectives across 3D, 2D side-scrolling, and top-down sections.
Alongside it, King of Retail is a business simulation where you build a store from the ground up. It holds a "Very Positive" rating on Steam at 82%, and if you have ever worked in actual retail, running a virtual shop on your own terms genuinely feels therapeutic.
April 16 is the biggest week of the month, with three games dropping at once. Monster Harvest blends farming simulation with creature-training mechanics in a style reminiscent of Stardew Valley and Pokémon.
Snake Core takes the classic arcade Snake formula and twists it into a roguelike shooter hybrid from indie studio OrangePixel.
Rounding it out is Detective Agency: Gray Tie Collector's Edition, a hidden-object mystery adventure for fans of the genre.
The April 23 batch offers two narrative-driven experiences. Neo Cab, developed by Chance Agency, casts you as Lina, the last human cab driver in a near-future automated city. Critics praised it for its poignant writing and sharp themes.
The Pale Beyond is an Antarctic survival narrative where you manage a crew under brutal conditions. According to reviews, it was lauded for its atmosphere, meaningful choices, and replayability.
April wraps up on the 30th with a bonus week. Since this month has five Thursdays, Prime subscribers get an extra drop. KinnikuNeko: Super Muscle Cat is a 2D action-platformer about a buff, magically-powered cat taking on an alien invasion. It holds an impressive 96% positive rating on Steam.
Fantasy General, the 1996 hex-based strategy classic from Strategic Simulations, Inc., rounds out the PC list.
Pinball Spire, a "pinball-vania" hybrid that blends pinball physics with Metroidvania progression, also drops on the same day.
Beyond the PC titles, Prime members can also play the following games through the Luna cloud channel this month:
EA Sports FC 26
A Game About Digging a Hole
Letter Trek
WRC Generations: Fully Loaded Edition
The Jackbox Party Pack 2
Smurf's Kart
A Little Golf Journey
Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling
To claim any of the free PC games, visit the Amazon Luna site, log in with your Prime account, select a game, and redeem the code on the appropriate storefront, whether that is GOG, the Epic Games Store, Legacy Games, or the Amazon Games App. Once redeemed, the game is added to your library and stays there permanently.
If you are not yet a Prime member, a subscription starts at $15 for a single month, which is enough to grab everything on offer this April.
