Arc System Works has officially announced that it will host a dedicated Showcase presentation later this week, offering fans a look at upcoming games and projects.

The livestream event is scheduled for Friday, June 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. JST, with global time zone conversions placing it at 6:00 p.m. PT / 9:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 26, and 2:00 a.m. BST on Friday for viewers in the UK.

Known for its acclaimed fighting franchises like Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, and Dragon Ball FighterZ, the Japan-based developer promises a slate of announcements that go beyond routine updates. The showcase is expected to deliver fresh details on both ongoing projects and completely new titles.

Among the highlights teased is a new project spearheaded by Daisuke Ishiwatari, the iconic creator behind Guilty Gear. Ishiwatari, who not only designed the series’ characters and storyline but also composed much of its standout soundtrack, last worked on Guilty Gear Strive in 2021. That title marked a high point for the studio, achieving over 31,000 peak concurrent players on Steam, even outperforming contemporaries like Street Fighter V and Tekken 7 at launch.

While the upcoming reveal from Ishiwatari has sparked speculation of a new Guilty Gear installment, Arc System Works has kept details under wraps. That said, expectations are high given the studio's recent momentum, especially after surprising fans at Summer Game Fest 2025 with the announcement of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls—a brand-new 4v4 tag fighter being co-developed with Sony and Marvel.

So far, eight characters have been confirmed for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, including heavy-hitters like Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Doctor Doom, and Storm. The game is targeting a 2026 release on PC and PlayStation 5, and this week's showcase is likely to shed more light on its roster and gameplay mechanics. It wouldn’t be surprising to see a few more superheroes join the lineup or get our first extended look at in-game footage.

Another game expected to make an appearance is Guilty Gear Strive, which recently added Unika as part of Season Pass 4. This leaves Lucy, the guest fighter from CD PROJEKT RED's Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, as the final unreleased character in the current season. Fans are eager to see how Lucy, the first-ever crossover character in Guilty Gear, translates into the game’s unique visual and combat style. Additional updates on Season 4’s other content—such as new stages, balance changes, and the 3v3 Team Battle mode—may also be on the docket.

Adding a bit more intrigue to the mix, a recent datamine leak shared by X0XLeak on social media hinted that Arc System Works might be working on an unannounced title for Nintendo Switch 2, codenamed Watari. According to the leak, the game is built in Unreal Engine 5.4 and is tentatively planned for a November 2025 release. While the project remains unconfirmed, fans are hoping this new IP—or perhaps a return of BlazBlue—could also make a surprise debut during the stream.
