Bandai Namco Announces 3 Games for Nintendo Switch 2 Including Elden Ring

Bandai Namco Announces 3 Games for Nintendo Switch 2 Including Elden Ring

Bandai Namco is bringing three big titles to the Nintendo Switch 2! The lineup includes a special edition of ELDEN RING, a dark sci-fi platformer inspired by PAC-MAN, and a brand-new Tamagotchi game.

ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition – A Legendary RPG Comes to Switch 2

ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition

One of the biggest surprises? ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition is making its way to the Switch 2 in 2025. This all-in-one package bundles the base game with the massive SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE expansion.

On top of that, players will get exclusive content like new armor sets, weapons, and customization options for their trusty steed, Torrent. Bandai Namco has confirmed that these extras will eventually come to other platforms, but Switch 2 players get first dibs!

SHADOW LABYRINTH – A Dark Twist to Classic Arcade Action PAC-MAN

SHADOW LABYRINTH

Next up, SHADOW LABYRINTH is a 2D action-platformer that reimagines the Pac-Man franchise in a bold new way. Unlike its arcade roots, this game embraces a metroidvania style, casting players as Swordsman No. 8—a warrior lost in a sprawling, alien labyrinth. Guided by Puck, an enigmatic floating orb, players must battle monstrous foes, consume their power, and evolve from prey into predator. The game’s eerie atmosphere and combat-driven mechanics mark a striking departure from the series’ family-friendly past.

Enhanced for Switch 2 with 4K visuals, 60 FPS, and ray-tracing support, it aims to showcase the console’s next-gen capabilities.

SHADOW LABYRINTH launches on July 18, 2025. Pre-orders are open now for the original Switch, but Bandai Namco says Switch 2 pre-order info will come later. The game is also set to release on other platforms.

However, its drastic shift in tone has sparked debate among fans, with some excited for the fresh approach while others demand a return to Pac-Man’s traditional gameplay.

TAMAGOTCHI PLAZA – The Virtual Pets Are Back!

TAMAGOTCHI PLAZA

For something more chill, TAMAGOTCHI PLAZA is bringing back the fan-favorite virtual pet series. This is the latest entry in the Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop franchise, a shop simulation series that originally debuted on the Nintendo DS in 2005.

Set in Tamahiko Town on Tamagotchi Planet, the game lets players manage various shops while interacting with over 100 Tamagotchi characters. The Switch version includes 12 different shops, such as a Dentist and an Eyewear Shop, where players help Tamagotchi customers.

However, the Nintendo Switch 2 edition adds three exclusive shops, bringing the total to 15. These extra shops introduce a new gameplay element—mouse controls—likely enabled by the Switch 2’s improved hardware.

For the first time in the series, TAMAGOTCHI PLAZA features an offline two-player mode, allowing friends and family to team up in select shops.

Players who start with the original Switch version can later purchase a "Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack" to access the exclusive content.

Launching on June 27, 2025, for both the original Switch and the Switch 2, this game brings a colorful, cozy experience perfect for longtime fans and newcomers alike.

A Big Win for Nintendo

Nintendo securing ELDEN RING—a game that’s sold over 20 million copies worldwide—is a huge deal. The game, developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco, won multiple Game of the Year awards and still has a dedicated player base.

Gaming analysts believe Bandai Namco’s strong support for the Switch 2 signals confidence in the console’s capabilities. The variety in these three games—a hardcore RPG, a dark platformer, and a casual sim—suggests that the Switch 2 is shaping up to be a versatile gaming platform.

With Nintendo’s next-gen console set to launch on June 5, 2025, expect more details on these games and what the Switch 2 will bring to the table in the coming months!
