The Battlefield 6 hype continues to build, and now we finally have official details from DICE about what players can expect in the game’s upcoming open beta.
The studio has confirmed the maps, game modes, and weapons that will be playable during the beta period, which kicks off this August across three separate waves.
Whether you're a die-hard fan or just curious about the next evolution in the Battlefield franchise, here's everything you need to know about the Battlefield 6 Open Beta.
Battlefield 6 Open Beta Dates and Access Eligibility
The beta is split into three phases, with early access reserved for a specific group of players:
Early Access (August 7–8)
Available to:
EA Play members
Anyone who registered for Battlefield Labs before July 31
Players who claimed Twitch Drops
Open Beta Phase 1 (August 9–10)
Open to all players.
Open Beta Phase 2 (August 14–17)
Another open period for everyone to jump back in.
Supported Platforms for the Beta
You can join the action on:
PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store, and EA App)
PlayStation 5
Xbox Series X|S
Note: PS4 and Xbox One are not supported, continuing DICE’s current-gen focus.
Playable Maps in the Battlefield 6 Beta
Players will get hands-on with four of the nine launch maps, offering a diverse range of environments and strategic opportunities:
Liberation Peak – Likely a mountainous terrain focused on verticality and sniper spots.
Siege of Cairo – Urban warfare at its finest, blending close-quarters chaos and long-range engagement.
Iberian Offensive – Set in Southern Europe, probably filled with wide-open fields and mixed vehicle combat.
Empire State – A war-torn vision of New York City, with skyscrapers, tight alleyways, and explosive confrontations.
Getting four maps in a beta is a generous offering, especially when compared to past Battlefield trials.
Game Modes Included in the Beta
You won’t just be stuck playing one mode over and over. The open beta features four of the seven launch modes:
Conquest – Classic Battlefield large-scale warfare with control points.
Breakthrough – Team-based objectives in a tug-of-war style format.
Squad TDM – Smaller-scale battles focused on tight squad coordination.
Domination – Faster-paced control point combat in more compact areas.
Each of these brings a different style of play, from epic vehicular chaos to intimate infantry clashes.
Confirmed Weapons in the Open Beta
DICE has packed the beta with a decent variety of weapons across multiple categories. Here’s a look at the arsenal you’ll be testing:
Assault Rifles (ARs):
M417 A2
AK-205
M4A1
SMGs:
SGX
PW7A2
LMGs:
KTS100 MK8
L110
DMRs:
M39 EMR
SVK-8.6
Sniper Rifle:
M2010 ESR
Shotgun:
M87A1
Pistol:
P18
There’s no official word on how many weapons will be in the full release, but the beta already offers a solid mix across playstyles — from CQB to long-range precision.
Overall, the open beta appears more generous than previous Battlefield playtests, both in terms of content and accessibility. It should give players a meaningful glimpse into how DICE has evolved the franchise following Battlefield 2042’s mixed reception.
If you’re planning to join early, make sure you’re signed in with the EA account associated with either EA Play, Twitch Drops, or Battlefield Labs registration. Otherwise, just mark your calendar for August 9 or August 14 when the open beta doors swing open for everyone.
