Autobots, roll out — into the battleground!

The Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) 3.9 Update is currently live in beta, and it’s bringing a massive crossover event fans won’t want to miss.
Transformers have officially entered the battleground, with Optimus Prime and Megatron headlining the brand-new Transformers Themed Mode.
Here’s a full breakdown of what to expect from this electrifying update:
Transformers Themed Mode
The highlight of BGMI 3.9 is the Spacebridge Beacon — a unique item found on the map. Picking one up lets players summon characters or crates from Cybertron.
Here’s what the Spacebridge Beacon can summon:
Optimus Prime (robot form with melee power)
Megatron (robot form with ranged firepower)
Cybertronian Supply Crate (general loot)
Energon Supply Crate (supplies + Energon to power up bots)
Playable Transformers: Optimus Prime & Megatron
Once summoned, these iconic Transformers bring devastating power and unique skills to the battlefield:
Optimus Prime
Transforms from truck to robot form.
Normal Attack: Thermal Axe melee.
Ultimate (Charge Slam): A high-speed dash that closes the gap and slows Megatron on hit, enabling brutal follow-ups.
Megatron
Transforms from tank to robot form.
Normal Attack: Cannon blasts.
Ultimate (Triple Fusion Blast): Fires a powerful shot that creates distance and slows Optimus Prime for strategic ranged attacks.
Players can collect Energon from the field to level up either Transformer, unlocking their Ultimate Skills for even more battlefield dominance.
Nemesis Showdown: Optimus vs. Megatron
When both Optimus Prime and Megatron appear on the same map, a special Nemesis Showdown zone activates — creating a unique duel arena on Erangel where only one can emerge victorious.
Additional 3.9 Update Content
The Transformers event isn’t all BGMI 3.9 has to offer. There’s new content across other modes as well:
WOW Mode Additions: Two new zombies, a massive Ice Dragon boss, and the powerful new Ink Blaster weapon.
Two new POIs called Neon Town are added near Primorsk and Pochinki on the Erangel map. These Cybertron-inspired POIs area hot-drop zone with premium loot
A futuristic hoverboard is available from Spawn Island and throughout matches, replacing traditional vehicles in some scenarios
Players can use burger-making machines in Neon Town to obtain a Galaxy Burger. These burgers act as an advanced healing item, instantly filling the boost bar, similar to an energy syringe.
The Vikendi map receives significant updates, including new terrain, strategic locations, and hidden surprises
New Royale Pass: Expected to introduce a Transformers-inspired Royale Pass with exclusive rewards, including skins, emotes, and outfits.
Release Date
The BGMI 3.9 Update is anticipated to roll out between July 12–17, 2025, with some sources suggesting a narrower window of July 12–15, 2025. Since the global version of BGMI, PUBG Mobile, with the 3.9 update, is rolling out on July 8, either release date seems plausible.
The BGMI beta version of the update is already live as of June 17, 2025, allowing players to test features before full release.
Since BGMI is the Indian version of PUBG Mobile, most features in the PUBG Mobile 3.9 beta (e.g., Neon Town, hoverboards) will carry over to BGMI, with minor India-specific tweaks.
