The BGMI community is buzzing—and for good reason.
S8UL Esports recently dropped its official roster for the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025, set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 7 to August 4, and fans couldn’t help but notice a surprising inclusion in the lineup.
Amid the stack of international esports talent, S8UL’s Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) squad made an appearance, igniting rumors about a possible Indian presence in the global PUBG Mobile scene once again.
Wait, BGMI at EWC 2025?
On May 31, S8UL revealed its star-studded EWC roster—and what caught everyone off-guard was the presence of BGMI veterans Manya, Nakul, Ronny, Goblin, and Legit in the announcement graphics.
That’s right—despite no official confirmation that India has a slot in PUBG Mobile at EWC 2025, the poster says otherwise.
This has sparked tons of speculation within the community. Could this mean BGMI is headed back to the global stage under the EWC umbrella? Or was it a subtle hint of things to come?
Why This Matters for Indian Esports
While PUBG Mobile remains banned in India since 2020, there is a precedent for Indian BGMI teams competing globally. Think back to the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2021 or the PUBG Mobile World Invitational (PMWI) 2022—Indian teams have made their mark before, and fans are hungry for a comeback.
As S8UL was the only Indian organization selected as a Club Partner for EWC 2025, competing in 8 other titles, their BGMI roster might get representation in the PUBG Mobile event too, though nothing’s confirmed yet.
Another theory making rounds is that the winner of the ongoing BMPS 2025 (Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series) might be tapped to represent India at the EWC. But that's highly unlikely.
Either way, until there's an official word from the organizers or Krafton, it's all speculation—but that’s not stopping fans from getting hyped.
S8UL’s Massive EWC 2025 Lineup
Confirmed or not, S8UL’s full EWC 2025 squad is stacked. The organization is the only Indian team to feature across eight titles at this year’s World Cup, cementing its place as a powerhouse in the international scene.
Here’s the breakdown of their rosters:
Apex Legends: Rick Wirth (Sharky), Benjamin Spaseski (Jesko), Tom Canty (Legacy)
Call of Duty: Warzone: Colin Bowers-Wilson (Trikempathy), Braxton Trice (Braxtvn), Ryder Skarzinski (Ryda)
Chess: Nihal Sarin, Aravindh Chithambaram
EAFC25: Jonas Wirth (Jonny), Aaron Rivera (Happy)
Fatal Fury: Marcoantonio Malpica (Yurikov)
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang: Michael Cosgun (MobaZane), Ian Hohl (FwydChickn), Jang Seong-hun (Hoon), Ziameth-Jei Caluya (ZIA), Vo Trung (Shark), Carlos Ortega Vega (Bestplayer1)
StarCraft II: Pyung Jae Koh (GuMiho)
Tekken 8: Arja Gamoori (Sephiblack), Nino Schwarz (Nino)
Whether or not S8UL’s BGMI lineup ends up flying the Indian flag at EWC 2025, the buzz is real. With PMWC just around the corner and the BMPS finale heating up, eyes are glued to every move.
