Krafton India has confirmed that the Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) 4.0 update will roll out on September 11, 2025, at 7:30 AM IST.
The update will start rolling out in the morning, but as with most major patches, it might take a few hours to reach all players by evening.
This new version is themed around Spooky Soiree, bringing a supernatural twist to the battlegrounds with horror locations, ghostly companions, and unique gameplay mechanics. The update is packed with new themed modes, special items, and interactive events.
What's New in BGMI 4.0 Update
Wraithmoor Mansion and Haunted Encounters
One of the standout additions is Wraithmoor Mansion, a sprawling, atmospheric location filled with supernatural décor.
Inside, players will find a botanical garden, labyrinth, memorial area, and plant cultivation zone. The mansion also hides a magic mirror — activating it reveals valuable loot but also releases ghosts, changing the in-game weather for added tension.
Ghosts in this mode aren’t just for show. Some disguise themselves as everyday objects, dropping supplies when attacked. Others hide in crates that, when opened, reveal the positions of nearby enemies — if you dare to take the risk.
The Performing Dead
Mid-match, players may be alerted to a ghostly concert by The Performing Dead. Entering the concert area triggers a live performance, after which attendees receive supply rewards. Interacting with the band can improve their performance, speeding up and upgrading your loot. In a fun twist, the ghosts might also “help” you by revealing enemy locations.
Meet Ghostie
The update also introduces Ghostie, a spectral companion visible only to you — unless you activate one of its skills. Ghostie can equip one main skill and two passive skills at a time, ranging from Floating Balloon (lift and glide) to Guardian Shield (block and bash enemies). Passive abilities include armor repair, headshot protection, enemy scanning, speed boosts, and healing. Skills can be upgraded through rare items or by finding higher-level versions in the field.
Magic Broom and Strength Potion
Mobility gets a magical upgrade with the Magic Broom, a two-player flying vehicle with dash and sweep attacks. There’s also the Strength Potion, granting 50 seconds of boosted speed, higher jumps, and reduced damage — though you won’t be able to use firearms while under its effects. A ground slam attack adds extra punch to this temporary power-up.
