Game Science has released the April Update for Black Myth: Wukong, bringing NVIDIA DLSS 4 and Intel XeSS 2.0 support to the popular game. The update is currently available on the Epic Games Store, while Steam users will need to wait a bit longer.

This new patch (Patch 1.0.16.18901) brings important graphics technology upgrades that could dramatically improve how the game runs on compatible computers. For players with NVIDIA graphics cards, DLSS 4 promises significant performance improvements through its advanced AI upscaling technology.

According to NVIDIA's benchmarks, the performance gains are impressive. The upcoming RTX 5060 Ti can reach 149.2 FPS at 1080p resolution and 99.7 FPS at 1440p with full ray tracing enabled.

The flagship RTX 5090 shows even more dramatic results, hitting 247.6 FPS at 4K resolution. This represents a massive 55% increase over the RTX 5080, which reaches 159.7 FPS at the same settings. At 1440p resolution, the RTX 5090 performs even better with 295.6 FPS.

Intel users haven't been forgotten in this update. The patch adds support for Intel XeSS 2.0, making Black Myth: Wukong one of the first games to include this technology. Intel Arc GPU owners can now use the new Frame Gen feature, which works similarly to NVIDIA's frame generation technology to boost performance.

Interestingly, the game does not currently support AMD's FSR 4.0 technology. It remains unclear whether Game Science will add support for AMD's competing technology in future updates, or if AMD might enable support through driver updates.

Some sources claim the performance improvements from DLSS 4 could be as high as "10X" at maximum 4K settings, though these extraordinary claims should be approached with caution until independently verified.

Epic Games Store users can download the update now by launching the Epic client. Steam users will need to wait for the update to reach their platform, with no specific release date announced yet.
