Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has received a new patch, with developer The Chinese Room promising more fixes and content in the months ahead.

The RPG has had a mixed reception since launch (63/100 on Metacritic), but the studio is clearly working hard to improve the experience and keep players engaged.
Patch 1.0.4 is the latest update, and it addresses one of the most frustrating issues players faced. Previously, quitting to the main menu or exiting the game meant progress wasn’t saved, often resulting in hours of lost playtime. Now, autosave updates your progress for collectibles, blood resonance, and ability points, ensuring you don’t lose hard‑earned progress.
Beyond that, the patch includes a wide range of bug fixes. Some of these are very specific, like enemies clipping out of bounds in the quest A Kiss From Prospero, or the player character falling out of the world in certain areas. According to the official patch notes, fixes also cover missing NPCs, broken quest triggers, and even cosmetic issues like texture flickering and hairstyle glitches.
Looking ahead, patch 1.0.5 is expected before the end of the year. This update will add a much‑requested FOV slider, a Motion Blur toggle, and improved progress saving.
Then, during the winter season, players can expect a Christmas‑themed update with festive cosmetics and a new Custom Difficulty mode. This mode, unlocked after completing the game, will let you tweak settings such as starting health, masquerade sensitivity, and enemy awareness. Think of it as a New Game+ with more flexibility.
The roadmap doesn’t stop there. In early 2026, a Valentine’s update is planned, followed by DLC packs including Loose Cannon (in Q2) and The Flower and the Flame (in Q3).
For now, Bloodlines 2 is available on PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store, as well as on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. If you’re already playing, this patch should make things smoother, and if you’re waiting for more content, the roadmap shows plenty is on the way.
