Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will now launch with all six clans available in the base game, after publishers Paradox Interactive and White Wolf, along with developer The Chinese Room, responded to player criticism over previously planned DLC restrictions.
Release Details
The long-awaited sequel will release on October 21, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Originally, only four clans were included in the standard $59.99 edition, with Lasombra and Toreador locked behind the $21.99 standalone DLC or bundled in the $89.99 Premium Edition. That decision didn’t sit well with the community, and backlash quickly escalated online.
In response, Paradox issued refunds for PlayStation Store pre-orders a week ago, promising “big changes” to the launch structure. Those changes are now official: both clans will be part of the core experience from day one.
White Wolf’s executive vice president and Bloodlines 2 executive producer, Marco Behrmann, credited the community for the shift, saying:
“Thanks to our community for the frank feedback on Bloodlines 2 and the Premium Edition. That feedback made it clear: Lasombra and Toreador belong in the base game, so that is what we are doing.”
New Story Packs and Expansion Pass
While the clans are now unlocked for everyone, Paradox also announced two major story expansions that will extend the game into 2026. These will be available individually for $34.99 or bundled as part of the Expansion Pass:
Loose Cannon (Q2 2026) - Follow the story of Brujah Sheriff Benny, complete with an outfit for protagonist Phyre.
The Flower & The Flame (Q3 2026) - Explore the path of Toreador Primogen Ysabella Moore, with a matching outfit for Phyre.
Both expansions will deepen the political intrigue of Seattle’s World of Darkness, showing key events from the perspectives of prominent Camarilla figures.
Editions and Extras
Players will have several versions of Bloodlines 2 to choose from:
Digital Deluxe Edition: Base game + Santa Monica Memories cosmetic pack.
Digital Premium Edition: Base game + Expansion Pass (Santa Monica Memories, Loose Cannon, The Flower & The Flame).
Physical Day One Edition: Base game + Bloodlines Nostalgia Jukebox, plus select retailer bonuses like a replica cross necklace.
Physical Premium Edition: Includes everything from Premium, along with collectible extras such as a Steelbook case, journal, and character cards.
For those unfamiliar, Bloodlines 2 is an action-RPG set in the World of Darkness universe. Players step into the story through the perspectives of Elder vampire Phyre and Malkavian detective Fabien, navigating Camarilla politics while protecting (or breaking) the Masquerade.
At launch, you’ll be able to choose from six clans: Brujah, Tremere, Banu Haqim, Ventrue, Toreador, and Lasombra. Each clan offers unique abilities and playstyles, shaping both combat and dialogue options.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 launches October 21, 2025, with pre-orders available now across Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
