Microsoft’s subscription service has been pretty busy this month, adding a strong lineup of new games with its first August wave. Assassin’s Creed Mirage was the highlight of that drop, while only three titles were taken off at the time. Now, the Xbox app has confirmed that another batch of removals is coming before the month closes, which means players have limited time to try them out.

Five Games Exiting at the End of August

According to the official Xbox App listings, the following titles will leave Game Pass on August 31, 2025:

  • Borderlands 3: Ultimate Edition

  • This War of Mine: Final Cut

  • Ben 10: Power Trip

  • Sea of Stars

  • PAW Patrol Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay

This update brings the total count of removals in August to eight games. Earlier in the month, Anthem, Farming Simulator 22, and Persona 3 Reload were already rotated out. As per the usual Game Pass cycle, more removals may follow once Wave 2 for August 2025 is revealed.

Why Borderlands 3 Stands Out

While each game on the list has its audience, Borderlands 3: Ultimate Edition is definitely the biggest departure. This edition isn’t just the base game — it packs in all 4 story DLCs and 2 expansions along with multiple cosmetic packs, making it the most complete version available.

Added in April, it follows the usual trend for high-profile titles on subscription services, remaining available for just five to six months. This one will leave the platform after five months.

For fans of co-op shooters and chaotic, loot-driven gameplay, this is one of the best games to experience on the service.

Afterward, it will be available for $99.99 (probably less if discounted) on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
