The PUBG Nations Cup 2026 (PNC 2026) brought together 24 of the world's best national teams for six days of intense PUBG: Battlegrounds action in Seoul, South Korea. The event ran from June 23 to June 28, with teams competing for national pride and a prize pool that eventually grew to more than $1 million through crowdfunding.

Brazil finally lifted its first PUBG Nations Cup trophy after delivering one of the most consistent performances of the event. Led by captain Sparkingg alongside bielmtcalmo, Tny7, zkraken, and coach Rds, the South American squad held their nerve under immense pressure to secure the championship.

How did the PUBG Nations Cup 2026 work?

PNC 2026 featured a two-stage tournament format.

The top 8 teams from the previous edition (PNC 2025) qualified directly for the Grand Finals. Meanwhile, the remaining 16 invited national teams competed in the Survival Stage.

The Survival Stage took place over two days and featured 10 matches, with five games played each day. The top 8 teams advanced to the Grand Finals, joining the directly qualified teams to complete the 16-team lineup.

The Grand Finals consisted of 15 matches spread across three days. Teams earned points through both placements and kills, with the combined score deciding the final champion.

This scoring format rewarded teams that could consistently survive while also picking up eliminations throughout the tournament.

Brazil stayed consistent from start to finish

Brazil entered the Grand Finals with confidence but had never previously won the Nations Cup title.

They made an immediate statement on Day 1, finishing at the top of the leaderboard with 61 points. Their dominant start included one Chicken Dinner and an impressive 39 kills, giving them an early advantage over the rest of the field.

Brazil carried that momentum into Day 2 despite growing pressure from several challengers. Instead of depending on multiple match wins, they continued to collect valuable placement points and eliminations in almost every game. By the end of the day, Brazil had extended its total to 100 points.

Meanwhile, South Korea mounted a strong comeback. The home team secured two Chicken Dinners on Day 2, allowing Heaven, Gyumin, Seongjang, and Heather to climb into second place. Even after their impressive run, however, they still trailed Brazil by 20 points, finishing the day with 80 points.

With everything on the line, the championship came down to the final day. The five-match schedule featured Erangel, Miramar, Taego, Rondo, and Erangel once again.

South Korea kept the pressure on throughout the day. Strong finishes in Match 13 on Taego and Match 14 on Rondo, where they placed third and second respectively, helped them steadily close the gap. Heading into the deciding 15th match, Brazil's once-comfortable lead had been reduced to just 6 points.

The final game delivered plenty of drama. Brazil was eliminated early without scoring a single point, leaving the players with nothing to do but watch South Korea's performance and hope their lead would hold.

In the end, Brazil's fate remained in its rival's hands. South Korea, however, was unable to complete the comeback. The team managed just one kill before being eliminated early, allowing Brazil to hold onto first place and secure its maiden PUBG Nations Cup title.

Although Brazil secured just one Chicken Dinner across all 15 Grand Final matches, the team dominated in fights and finished with an incredible 85 kills. That consistent firepower proved to be the difference as Brazil finished with 124 total points.

Captain Sparkingg was later named the Grand Finals MVP for his outstanding performances throughout the tournament.

Brazil celebrates a dream victory

Following the victory, Brazil's coach Rds reflected on finally achieving a long-awaited goal (via Invenglobal).

"I'm so happy. I've dreamed of becoming a champion for a long time, and I'm grateful to have achieved that dream today. Before starting the third day, we talked about how a poor result in any single match shouldn't affect our overall performance. We did our best, and I think luck was on our side as well."

Grand Finals MVP Sparkingg also shared his emotions after lifting the trophy.

"I don't think I'll ever forget this moment, even when I'm old and gray. We were leading by 20 points, but the results in the first and second matches today weren't great. However, I believed everything was in God's hands, so we all stayed calm and focused on the game together. And in the end, it worked out just as we wanted."

He also described the tense moments after Brazil was eliminated early in the final match.

"It was the longest moment of my 25 years of life. During that time, the moments I experienced to get here flashed through my mind like scenes from a movie. The moment South Korea was eliminated, the heavy weight on my shoulders completely disappeared."

Their memorable run in Seoul will likely be remembered as one of the finest championship performances ever seen at the PUBG Nations Cup.
