PUBG Mobile is bringing back its aespa collaboration on June 1, 2026, as part of the game's 4.4 update.
The announcement came through a short teaser clip showing aespa members Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning in dark, edgy styling with in-game HUD overlays.
Is This the First aespa x PUBG Collab?
Not even close. This partnership has actually built quite a history over the past year:
July 2025: The first major aespa collaboration launched on PUBG: Battlegrounds (PC/Console). It featured member-themed skins, weapon cosmetics, emotes, and map changes to Miramar, all inspired by their "Dark Arts" and "Whiplash" concepts.
January to February 2026: A dedicated PUBG Mobile collab brought the experience to mobile players with full costume sets, voice cards, emotes, and event missions.
April 2026: The PC/Console version brought the items back for a limited window.
The January to February 2026 event was the most content-rich aespa drop on mobile. The collab included:
4 Costume Sets (Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning)
1 Helmet skin
2 Firearm skins
1 Pan skin
2 Emotes: "PUBGM X aespa: Whiplash" and "PUBGM X aespa: Dark Arts"
5 Voice Cards (one for each member plus a group card)
Some of these items were available for free through login events and missions. The rest went through crate and exchange ticket systems.
What Is Coming on June 1?
Based on the pattern from previous events, players can expect:
Returning costume sets for all four members
Weapon and melee skins from the previous drop
Whiplash and Dark Arts emotes
Voice cards
Possible free rewards through login bonuses and in-game missions
AESPA Lucky Spin, a gacha-style spin system
The exact end date has not been confirmed, but these events typically run for two to four weeks.
And yes, the collab is expected to arrive in BGMI (India) as well.
Is aespa the First K-pop Act in PUBG?
No. PUBG Mobile has a solid history with K-pop collabs that goes back further than most players might remember:
Blackpink (2020 and 2022): The pioneers of K-pop in PUBG Mobile. Their 2022 partnership included the first-ever in-game K-pop concert, called "The Virtual."
NewJeans: Had a notable run with map changes, emotes, and cosmetics.
BABYMONSTER (2025): Multiple collab runs, including a 7th anniversary event tie-in.
aespa (2025 to present): Joined with their PC/Console debut in July 2025 and have since had multiple returns across both platforms.
What Does This Mean for the Numbers?
The financial impact of these collabs is not small. According to Krafton's CFO, the July 2025 aespa collab on PC/Console outperformed the NewJeans collab by roughly 70% in revenue and overall performance. That is a significant jump.
As per reports on Krafton's 2025 financials, the company recorded an annual revenue of approximately KRW 3.33 trillion, up around 23% year-over-year, with operating profit crossing KRW 1 trillion. The PUBG IP, driven in large part by these collab events, was cited as a key contributor to that growth.
The monetization model relies heavily on Lucky Spin and crate systems, step-up packs, and direct purchases. Full sets can run players anywhere from $30 to over $100, depending on luck and spending habits.
The June 1 return is expected to follow that same short-term revenue spike pattern. With aespa continuing to grow in global popularity, it would be no surprise if this collab becomes a regular seasonal feature rather than a one-off event.
