Activision has confirmed that Season 6 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will begin tomorrow, on October 9, 2025, bringing back the fan-favorite Haunting event across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone. The seasonal update arrives just a month before the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, giving players plenty to dive into while the next installment prepares for launch.

When Does Season 6 Begin?
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 6 and The Haunting Event launch on October 9, 2025, at 9:00 AM PT / 12:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM BST / 6:00 PM CEST across all platforms, including PC (Battle.net, Steam), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.
This timing applies to both the season update and the start of The Haunting Event in Black Ops 6 and Warzone, ensuring a synchronized rollout worldwide.
What’s New in Multiplayer?
Season 6 introduces four new multiplayer maps:
Gravity – a medium-sized 6v6 arena.
Rig – a smaller map supporting both 2v2 and 6v6 matches.
Mothball – another compact map designed for fast-paced encounters.
Boo-Town – a Halloween-themed reimagining of Nuketown, complete with skeletons, spiders, and glowing jack-o’-lanterns.
Alongside the maps, a new mode called Slasher Deathmatch debuts, featuring horror icons Jason and Chucky as playable killers.
What About Zombies?
For Zombies fans, the limited-time mode Haunted Havoc adds pumpkin-headed undead that are faster and more aggressive than standard enemies. This mode will be available across multiple maps, including Reckoning, Shattered Veil, The Tomb, Citadelle des Morts, Terminus, and Liberty Falls.
Players can also loot pumpkins scattered throughout the maps, which contain rewards like free ammo mods and other bonuses. It’s a small but clever seasonal touch that encourages exploration while keeping the action unpredictable.
Warzone’s Haunted Return
Warzone players aren’t left out either. Haunted versions of Rebirth Island and Verdansk will be available, both set at night for maximum atmosphere. The popular Zombie Royale mode also makes a comeback, letting eliminated players return as the undead with special abilities such as mimic, EMP blast, and mutant injection.
New Weapons, Battle Pass, and Predator Crossover
Season 6 adds four new weapons: the X52 Resonator, Chainsaw, Merrick 556, and Dresden 9mm. New attachments like the GPMG-7 Muzzle Booster and GPR91 Double-Barrel conversion expand customization options.
A fresh Battle Pass will also be available, offering up to 10 new skins, 25 weapon blueprints, and additional rewards.
In a surprise crossover, The Predator will appear in both Black Ops 6 and Warzone, continuing Activision’s trend of blending pop culture icons into the Call of Duty universe.

Free Trial Week for Black Ops 6
To coincide with the launch, Activision announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be free to play from October 9 to October 16. During this period, players can access the campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies modes without restriction. For anyone who hasn’t tried the game yet, this is a chance to experience the full package before deciding whether to commit long-term.
While Season 6 keeps Black Ops 6 active, attention is already shifting to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, which launches on November 14, 2025.
In a smaller update, Activision extended the Black Ops 7 open beta by 24 hours, now running until October 9.
