Activision is firing the first shot in the upcoming FPS showdown by announcing a Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 free trial that perfectly overlaps with Battlefield 6’s highly anticipated launch week.

A Timed Move Ahead of Battlefield 6’s Release
According to Activision’s official blog post, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available as a week-long free trial starting October 9, 2025, at 9:00 AM PT and running until October 16 at 10:00 AM PT. That’s just one day before Battlefield 6 officially launches on October 10, and many players see the timing as anything but coincidental.
The trial will be available across all major platforms: PlayStation, Xbox, and PC (via Steam and Battle.net).
And for the first time in the franchise’s history, Activision is opening up the entire campaign as part of the trial, alongside its signature Multiplayer and Zombies modes (minus Ranked Play).
What’s Included in the Black Ops 6 Free Trial?
Players diving into the trial can expect a surprisingly generous lineup of content. According to the announcement, you’ll have access to:
40+ Multiplayer Maps
All six Zombies maps, including the new Directed Mode
Limited-time “The Haunting” update content, featuring:
Gravity, Rig, and Mothball multiplayer maps
Haunted Havoc Zombies event mode
And additional themed cosmetics and rewards

Activision is also expanding the Black Ops 7 open beta window to October 9.
