The unlock times are synchronized globally. That means no edition-based or region-based early access this time, everyone gets in at the same moment, whether you’re on PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S, or in Japan or the U.S.

Battlefield 6 File Size
Pre-loads went live on October 3 (October 4 in Japan and Oceania), so if you’ve already cleared space on your drive, you’re good to go.
Speaking of space, you’ll need quite a bit. The PC version weighs in at around 76 GB, though EA has made the install modular. You can pick and choose between the Base game (48.88 GB), Multiplayer (5 GB +423 MB HD pack), and Single-player (15 GB +7 GB HD pack), trimming the size down to about 55 GB if you only want the online modes.
On consoles, the numbers are slightly different: 67 GB on PS5, 70 GB on Xbox Series X, and a leaner 40 GB on Series S. It’s not the lightest install we’ve seen, but compared to some shooters crossing the 100 GB mark, it’s manageable.
Physical retail copies for PlayStation 5 come with the complete game on disc, so there's no need for extra downloads.
An email from EA also confirms that Battlefield 6 will reach up to 120 FPS on consoles through performance mode.
Battlefield 6 Season 1
Looking beyond launch, EA has already outlined Season 1, which begins on October 28. The update will roll out in three phases: Rogue Ops introduces the Blackwell Fields map and a new 4v4 mode called Strikepoint; California Resistance arrives on November 18 with the Eastwood map and an 8v8 Sabotage mode; and Winter Offensive lands on December 9, bringing the Empire State map and a themed event that EA is keeping under wraps for now.
As per reports from EA, a free-to-download battle royale mode is also expected later in October, though details remain limited.
When Does the Review Embargo Lift?
For those waiting on reviews before committing, the embargo lifts on October 9 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET / 4 PM BST / 8:30 PM IST, a full day before launch. That gives you time to see how critics feel about the campaign and multiplayer before you dive in.
