Capcom has reported a 61.1% year-on-year increase in revenue from Steam for the fiscal year ending March 2025, reaching approximately $366 million USD.
This figure now makes up 31.1% of the company’s total revenue, highlighting how central the PC platform has become to Capcom’s business.
According to data shared by GameBiz (via Automaton), this marks the fourth consecutive year that Steam revenue has grown for Capcom, with this latest jump being the most significant yet (from 21.5% to 31.1%).
If we consider Capcom's digital business only (excluding amusement facilities and other ventures), Steam accounted for a hefty 42.1% of revenue in its core business.
On the flip side, revenue generated from PlayStation digital sales has taken a noticeable dip. Last year, PlayStation accounted for 10.5% of total revenue, but this year the number was too low to even be listed in Capcom’s breakdown—suggesting it fell below the 10% threshold.
Much of this Steam success appears to be driven by strong catalogue sales and the high-profile launch of Monster Hunter Wilds, which had a simultaneous release across all platforms. The PC version alone reportedly made up more than half of the game’s launch window sales. Long-running franchises like Street Fighter 6 have also maintained strong momentum on Steam.
With numbers like these, it’s unlikely the publisher will slow down its focus on Steam anytime soon—and for PC players, that’s probably the best news they could ask for.
