CD Projekt Red Expands to 851 Developers Across Witcher 4, Cyberpunk 2, and More

CD Projekt Red has confirmed that its development team now stands at 851 people. The update came during the studio’s Q3 2025 earnings call, which also highlighted milestones like Cyberpunk 2077 reaching 35 million copies sold worldwide.

The studio revealed that the majority of its developers are currently focused on The Witcher 4, with 447 staff assigned to the project—up slightly from 444 in July. That’s not surprising given the scale of the next Witcher installment, which is expected to be one of the studio’s biggest undertakings yet.

Meanwhile, Cyberpunk 2 is gaining momentum. The sequel now has 135 developers working on it, compared to 116 earlier this year. As someone who remembers the rocky launch of Cyberpunk 2077, it’s reassuring to see CD Projekt Red investing heavily in its follow-up. According to the presentation, the Boston team has been steadily growing since 2023, starting with fewer than 50 developers and now sitting just under 150. The goal is ambitious: expand to over 300 developers by 2027.

Other projects are also seeing incremental growth. Project Sirius, a multiplayer title set in The Witcher universe, has increased its team size from 51 to 56 developers, while Project Hadar, an entirely original IP rumoured to be an action RPG, has gone from 22 to 29.

Shared Services, which supports multiple projects, now employs 162 people, up from 149. Even the “other” category has seen growth, rising from 17 to 22 developers.

What stands out here is the consistency of the expansion. CD Projekt Red added more than 60 developers in July, nearly 30 in May, and over 50 in March.
