Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Will Feature NVIDIA DLSS Support

NVIDIA DLSS Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, set to launch on April 24th, will include NVIDIA DLSS Super Resolution and DLAA technology support for GeForce RTX graphics card users.

This feature will allow players to enjoy better performance or enhanced image quality in this fantastical adventure game.

Developed by Sandfall Interactive and published by Kepler Interactive, the game tells the story of a world under a mysterious curse. In this unique setting, a character known as the Paintress awakens once a year to paint a number on a monolith. Anyone of that age instantly vanishes, turning to smoke. As the countdown approaches "33," the protagonist Gustave and fellow Expeditioners embark on a desperate mission to break this deadly cycle.

According to NVIDIA's announcement, GeForce RTX graphics card owners will have access to two key technologies when playing the game. DLSS Super Resolution uses AI to boost frame rates while maintaining visual quality, making the game run smoother on compatible systems. For those with more powerful setups who want to prioritize visuals over performance, DLAA (Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing) will be available to maximize image quality.

DLAA uses the same AI-driven neural network as DLSS but applies it at native resolution to enhance anti-aliasing, focusing on maximizing image quality (smoother edges, sharper details) rather than improving performance.

This addition joins a growing list of games supporting NVIDIA's RTX technologies. The company reports that more than 700 games and applications now feature various RTX technologies, including DLSS, NVIDIA Reflex, and ray-tracing effects.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is part of a wave of new DLSS integrations announced by NVIDIA this week. Other titles receiving DLSS support include Steel Seed, which launches with DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation; RuneScape: Dragonwilds and The Talos Principle: Reawakened, both featuring DLSS Frame Generation and Super Resolution; and Commandos: Origins, which includes DLSS Super Resolution.
