Big Bad Wolf's latest title, Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss, is set to release on April 16, 2026, across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and GOG.

Published by Nacon, the game is a first-person psychological thriller rooted in Lovecraftian horror. If you know Big Bad Wolf from The Council or Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong, you already have a sense of what to expect: rich narrative, meaningful choices, and a whole lot of atmosphere.

What Kind of Game Is It?

Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss is a narrative-driven investigation adventure set in the depths of the ocean. It blends exploration, stealth, puzzle-solving, and sanity management into a single unsettling package. There is no direct combat here. The game leans into psychological dread rather than action.

The story is set in 2053. You play as Agent Noah, a member of Ancile, a secret Interpol division that deals with occult matters. Your mission begins at a silent deep-sea mining station in the Pacific Ocean. Things escalate quickly as you descend into R'lyeh, the ancient sunken city that serves as Cthulhu's prison.

Alongside your AI companion KEY, you piece together the truth about humanity's origins while fighting to keep your sanity intact.

Expect branching paths and multiple endings based on your choices throughout.
