Cristiano Ronaldo’s unexpected appearance in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves already raised plenty of eyebrows — and now, a modder has given it an even more surprising twist. A fan-made mod developed by GameBanana user gerald616 replaces the football superstar with none other than Dante from the Devil May Cry series. Yes, the sword-wielding demon hunter is now pulling off fancy footwork instead of flashy combos, at least on the surface.
The mod, titled “Dante, Son of Sparda over Ronaldo,” brings a stylish makeover to the game. Using clothing textures from a previous mod by WistfulHopes made for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, gerald616 was able to recreate Dante’s iconic look and transplant it into SNK’s latest fighter. And it doesn’t stop at visuals — the mod includes Dante’s English and Japanese voice lines, with the English ones taken directly from Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. His theme music is also included, giving the illusion that Dante truly belongs in the Fatal Fury universe.
To complete the transformation, even the UI has been overhauled to reflect Dante’s appearance. Players can choose from four different color schemes for the base costume and five more for an alternate outfit. However, in terms of gameplay, Dante still uses Ronaldo’s in-game move set. So, despite the flashy coat and demon-slaying swagger, there are no Devil Arms or flashy special attacks — just solid football kicks and martial arts-inspired moves.
So, whether you're a Devil May Cry fan, a modding enthusiast, or just someone who finds joy in strange crossovers, this one's worth a look.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is currently available on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
