Sassy Chap Games’ offbeat dating simulator Date Everything! has officially crossed the half-million sales mark since its release on June 17, 2025.
Published by Team17 Digital, the game has gained traction not only for its absurd concept but also for its unexpectedly heartfelt execution.
At its core, Date Everything! puts players in the shoes of a recently unemployed protagonist whose BFA in customer service becomes useless after being replaced by AI. Things take a surreal turn when a mysterious stranger delivers a pair of magical “Dateviator” glasses, revealing that every object in the player’s home is alive — and dateable. From your bed and smoke alarm to the less tangible “Overwhelming Sense of Existential Dread,” everything is a potential romantic prospect.
The game’s hook lies in its 100 fully voice-acted characters, each with their own personality, history, and relationship arc. As per various reviews, the cast includes notable voice talent from across gaming and animation, adding extra charm to each interaction.
Players can pursue romance, friendship, rivalry, or outright hostility, all without ever leaving the house. The home-based sandbox approach blends light life-simulation elements with sharp meta-commentary on dating sims, resulting in gameplay that’s equal parts cozy and ridiculous.
On the technical side, Date Everything! launched exclusively for PC via Steam, with minimum specs starting at an i5-2500 and GTX 660, and a recommended setup of i5-6600 or GTX 1060 for smoother performance. While launch was marked by minor performance hiccups — now largely patched — critics noted that the vibrant art style, expressive animations, and strong voice performances helped carry the experience.
Multiple editions are available, including the Standard Edition ($30) and the Lavish Edition ($35) with its extra DLC ($8). There’s also a crossover bundle with Monster Prom 4: Monster Con ($35), adding themed content for fans of quirky dating adventures.
Reception has been overwhelmingly positive among players, with over 4,000 reviews on Steam averaging the highest possible rating. On OpenCritic, the title holds a Top Critic Average of 80/100, with 83% of reviewers recommending it.
Outlets like Game Rant (10/10) and TheGamer (5/5) praised its masterful writing, emotional depth, and clever humor, while others like Shacknews (7/10) and Nintendo Life (6/10) noted that the sandbox freedom occasionally diluted narrative pacing.
