On June 6, rapper-turned-streamer Darryl “PontiacMadeDDG” set the internet on fire by revealing his Twitch earnings for May 2025: a wild $12,345,987—yep, over $12.3 million.
The self-reported number dropped during one of the most chaotic months in DDG’s life—both in the public eye and behind the scenes.
Earlier in May, DDG’s ex, actress Halle Bailey, came forward with serious abuse allegations, securing a restraining order and temporary sole custody of their 17-month-old son, Halo. The news rocked both the entertainment and streaming communities.
But judging by DDG’s Twitch numbers, the drama hasn’t slowed him down. If anything, it may have boosted him.
“Cap” or Cash?
As soon as DDG showed off his Twitch analytics live on stream, social media exploded with mixed reactions. Many fans were impressed—but others weren’t buying it.
According to streaming analyst Zach Bussey, the math just doesn’t add up. He broke it down: DDG averaged 22K concurrent viewers, clocked 6.7 million watch hours, had about 40,000 subs under the 70/30 split, and ran a decent chunk of ads (~35% ad content). Even then, Bussey estimates the real earnings are closer to $350,000, not $12 million. “He likely added a 12 at the beginning,” Bussey said.
One user joked, “If DDG made $12M, Kai Cenat must be pulling in like $30 million a month,” pointing to Kai’s 116,000+ subs compared to DDG’s 39,000.
Streaming Through the Storm
Still, DDG’s public stats are no joke. According to StreamsCharts, he streamed 289 hours in May, pulled over 24,000 average viewers, and gained nearly 1.6 million new followers. One of the biggest spikes came from a chaotic, livestreamed party in Akron, Ohio, which drew in more than 205,000 live viewers.
Even as his name trended alongside the abuse allegations, DDG didn’t slow down one bit. His response? Keep streaming. “I’m chillin btw… streaming later on, no days off,” he posted online.
DDG also got attention from FaZe Clan, who offered him a spot on their roster. He briefly took on the nickname “FaZe Moo” as part of what seemed like a marketing test.
Of course, the situation with Halle Bailey is serious, and the custody battle over their son Halo is still unfolding. As of now, Bailey has sole custody while legal proceedings continue.
Whether or not the $12M figure is accurate, one thing’s clear: DDG is proof that controversy doesn’t always kill momentum—in some cases, it can do the opposite.
