Bungie is hosting a 48-hour dungeon race starting at 9 AM PT on December 13 and ending at 9 AM PT on December 15. During this period, fireteams worldwide will compete to clear every encounter under Contest Mode.
World First Reward: The first team to finish will earn a “first-of-its-kind engram trophy,” immortalizing their achievement.
Entry Requirements:
Must own the Renegades expansion.
Fireteam leader must progress the introductory pursuit “The Way Between” to step 2.
A fireteam of three players is required.
Minimum recommended Power: 370 (lower levels will deal less damage and take more).
Modifiers: The Not Swap modifier resets Super energy, abilities, and ammo when changing Exotics or Legendaries.
Race Rules
To qualify for the official World First title, Bungie has outlined strict streaming and competition requirements:
At least one Fireteam member must stream the full run on Twitch, YouTube, or BiliBili.
Streams must remain active, set to video-on-demand (VOD), and include game audio.
Official overlays may be used, but gameplay cannot be obscured beyond designated areas.
Stream outages due to hardware or internet issues may invalidate attempts, subject to Bungie’s discretion.
Teams must submit streaming information in the contact form before launch (December 13, 2025, at 9 AM PT).
Multiple members streaming is encouraged to avoid disqualification from outages.
Disabled Items List
To maintain competitive integrity, Bungie confirmed the following will be disabled during Contest Mode:
Artifact Perks: Anti-Barrier Sniper Rifle, Kinetic Rupture
Abilities: Widow’s Silk (Hunter Aspect)
Weapons:
The Navigator (Exotic Trace Rifle) Catalyst
Refurbished A499 (Sniper Rifle)
Uncivil Discourse (Hand Cannon)
Mods: All Volatile Mods (can be slotted but provide no benefit)
Bungie noted that more items may be disabled prior to launch, with updates posted on the official site.
Rewards and Loot
Contest Mode Rewards: Completing all encounters before the mode ends grants the Heirloom Exotic weapon and the Dredgen’s Descent emblem.
Special Drop: The Dark Matter Crystal: Taken, usable in a Praxic Blade, has a low chance to drop after full clears.
