Destiny Rising, the first-ever mobile game in the Destiny franchise, is set to officially launch on August 28, 2025, bringing a new chapter for players who may be looking for something fresh beyond the grind of Destiny 2.

The game will release across four regional servers, all going live at 9 AM local time in its own time zone — not all at once worldwide.

  • Asia Pacific Server: Aug. 28 at 9 AM SGT

  • Europe Server: Aug. 28 at 9 AM CEST

  • Latin America Server: Aug. 28 at 9 AM BRT

  • North America Server: Aug. 28 at 9 AM PDT

This means servers in Singapore/Japan get in before others, because their “9 AM local time” happens earlier in the global day. It’s common for MMOs, gacha games, and online launches — ensuring a smoother first‑day experience, while reducing the risk of overload.

What Destiny Rising Brings to the Table

Destiny Rising is being developed by NetEase Games, under Bungie’s license, making it the first title in the series to be crafted outside of Bungie itself.

In fact, the game is not tied to Destiny 2’s timeline, allowing NetEase to create its own story while still weaving in familiar faces like Ikora Rey and even lore characters such as Kabr.

Unlike the mainline Destiny titles, Destiny Rising takes a gacha-based approach, much like Genshin Impact or Wuthering Waves. Players will collect in-game currency to pull for new characters, though microtransactions are also expected. While gacha systems can be hit or miss, the overall experience seems geared toward offering a wide range of content that keeps players engaged.

Gameplay Features to Expect

At launch, players can look forward to:

  • Destinations and campaigns with original storylines

  • PvE and PvP modes for competitive and cooperative play

  • Sparrow racing, a fan-favorite mode from the original game returning in mobile form

  • Housing features, giving Guardians a personal, customizable space outside of the Tower or public hubs

  • Dual-wielding weapons for combat variety

  • Classic exotic weapons like Huckleberry and Izanagi’s Burden

  • The ability to switch between first-person and third-person views

With this mix of content, Destiny Rising is aiming to blend the iconic world of Destiny with mobile-first gameplay, making it more accessible while still offering depth for longtime fans.
