Italian video game publisher Digital Bros has acquired the full intellectual property rights to the Chinese soulslike game Wuchang: Fallen Feathers from developer Chengdu Lingze Technology for approximately €4 million.
The deal was officially announced through a press release on the Digital Bros website, laying out the full terms of the acquisition.
The total consideration, as stated in the release, amounts to "RMB 32 million (approximately Euro 4 million), which will be funded through the Group's available credit lines."
With this transaction now complete, Digital Bros will retain all revenue generated by the game going forward and will have full control over its future direction.
According to Digital Bros, "securing the IP will enhance the Group's ability to make timely decisions regarding its future development and related investments."
"The Transaction is consistent with the Group’s strategy of increasing the share of fully owned intellectual property, supporting margin expansion and enhancing long-term value creation."

So what happened to the developer? Chengdu Lingze, the studio behind Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, was shut down after the game's launch in July 2025. Reports suggest the closure came after key senior staff departed and the remaining team reportedly rejected being repurposed as a support studio.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers reached the top position in Steam's Global Top Sellers chart ahead of its release. On launch day alone, it pulled in over 130,000 concurrent players on Steam. As of March 31, 2026, the game has sold over one million copies and generated more than €30 million in revenue, net of taxes and commissions. Digital Bros noted this "confirms the strength of the product and its long-term potential."
The game launched on July 24, 2025 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, and was also made available through Xbox Game Pass.
Digital Bros released the game worldwide through its subsidiary 505 Games, known for titles like Ghostrunner and Ghostrunner 2, the Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons remake, Indivisible, and more.
As for what comes next for the game, the company stated that "the Group does not expect the acquisition to have a significant impact on the business outlook for the current fiscal year previously disclosed to the market." So while the IP is now firmly in their hands, any major announcements or new developments are likely still a ways off.
