Just a day after the full launch of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, developer Leenzee Games and publisher 505 Games have publicly apologized for the game’s performance problems across PC and consoles.

Citing poor optimization, pricing bugs, and pre-order reward errors, the studio issued a heartfelt apology and swiftly followed it up with a 1.3 patch aimed at fixing the most glaring issues.

Despite its strong Soulslike foundations and positive early reception (with a 75 on Metacritic), Wuchang’s launch was hindered by a host of technical setbacks. Players on both console and PC platforms have reported erratic frame rates, crashes, and inconsistent optimization—even on high-end systems.

What Leenzee and 505 Said in Their Apology

In a joint statement, Leenzee Games and 505 Games said:

“These problems should never have occurred, and we deeply regret the inconvenience and negative experience some players are currently facing.”

They acknowledged three main issues:

  • Performance problems, even on systems that meet or exceed recommended specs

  • Pricing errors in select regions

  • Pre-order reward distribution failures for both Standard and Deluxe editions

To make amends, the devs promised:

  • A free copy of the game's Original Soundtrack DLC for all Steam buyers

  • Refunds for anyone who already purchased the soundtrack

  • A new exclusive costume for Deluxe Edition players in future updates

And true to their word, they followed the apology with a new patch.
