Developed by a team of former Telltale Games veterans, Dispatch is described as a “superhero workplace comedy” set in modern Los Angeles, where players juggle the chaos of office politics with the unpredictability of superpowered emergencies.

You’ll step into the shoes of Robert Robertson, once known as the armored hero Mecha Man. After losing his suit in battle, Robert is forced to trade in his cape for a desk job at the Superhero Dispatch Network (SDN). From there, you’ll manage a team of eccentric heroes, balancing their egos, abilities, and quirks while trying to keep the city safe.

Gameplay

At its core, Dispatch is a narrative-driven adventure with branching dialogue trees. Your decisions shape relationships, story outcomes, and even how your team functions. But there’s more than just conversation. Missions add a light strategy layer. You’ll scan a map of Los Angeles, assign heroes to incidents based on their stats and personalities, and manage cooldowns to prevent burnout.

There’s also a hacking mini-game that mixes quick navigation with timed button prompts, adding tension to certain missions. The game is strictly single-player, but the replayability comes from exploring different choices and outcomes.

Star-Studded Cast

One of the game’s biggest draws is its voice cast. The lineup blends Hollywood talent with some of the most recognizable names in gaming and streaming:

  • Aaron Paul – Best known for his Emmy‑winning role as Jesse Pinkman in Breaking Bad, he voices protagonist Robert Robertson.

  • Jeffrey Wright – Acclaimed actor from Westworld and The Batman, bringing gravitas to the ensemble.

  • Laura Bailey – A legendary voice actress recognized for roles in The Last of Us Part II, Critical Role, and countless anime dubs.

  • Travis Willingham – Known for Critical Role and games like Marvel’s Avengers (as Thor).

  • Matthew Mercer – Dungeon Master of Critical Role and voice of iconic characters such as Cassidy in Overwatch.

  • Jacksepticeye – One of YouTube’s biggest gaming personalities, lending his voice to the project.

  • Cr1TiKaL (a.k.a. MoistCr1TiKaL/Charles White Jr.) – Popular streamer and content creator with a massive online following.

  • Alanah Pearce – Former games journalist turned writer and content creator, also known for her work at Santa Monica Studio (God of War).

The writing team includes Pierre Shorette and Mayanna Berrin, with music by Andrew Arcadi and Skyler Barto.

Interestingly, Dispatch began as a live-action pitch inspired by ESPN’s This Is SportsCenter ads. After pandemic setbacks, the concept evolved into a game built in Unreal Engine 4. A demo released in May 2025 received strong praise, and in July, Critical Role announced a partnership that includes merchandise, a tabletop game, and even an animated series.
