It looks like Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero could be making its way to Nintendo Switch 2, thanks to a leaked — and quickly deleted — post from an official government source.
The news comes from the Saudi General Authority of Media Regulation, which briefly published a tweet confirming the game for Nintendo’s upcoming console. The post, spotted by users on the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit, reported by IGN, read:
“Experience the fighting action in the latest game Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. Available on Nintendo Switch 2, featuring 3D battles and storylines that change based on your choices.”
The tweet also revealed the game had received a 12+ age rating in the region. While the post was swiftly taken down, it strongly suggests that a Switch 2 version is planned — despite no official word from Bandai Namco or Nintendo.
A Record-Breaking Dragon Ball Revival
Developed by Spike Chunsoft, Sparking! Zero is the long-awaited continuation of the Budokai Tenkaichi series — the first in 17 years.
It launched in October 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and quickly became the fastest-selling Dragon Ball game in console history, with over 5 million units sold in just four months. In fact, the first 3 million copies were sold within just 24 hours of its release.
Building on the series’ signature 3D arena fighting mechanics, Sparking! Zero boasts a massive roster of 182 playable characters, each with their own distinct abilities, transformations, and iconic moves pulled straight from the Dragon Ball universe.
The game offers multiple gameplay modes, including:
Episode Battle, which lets players relive major story arcs from the anime and manga.
Custom Battles, where players can create and share unique scenarios.
Full support for online and offline multiplayer, catering to both solo and competitive players.
If the leak proves accurate, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero would join a growing list of Bandai Namco titles rumored or confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2. Other confirmed titles include:
ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition
SHADOW LABYRINTH
TAMAGOTCHI PLAZA
As of April 24, pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 are now open, with a retail price of $449.99.
For now, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero remains available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, with a Switch 2 version seemingly waiting in the wings.
