Techland has officially unveiled a new crossover event between Dying Light 2: Stay Human and the popular roguelike card game Balatro, introducing fresh content including a unique bundle, new side quests, and gameplay-enhancing items.
Dubbed the “Friend of Aiden” bundle, this crossover offers more than just cosmetics. Players can expect a mix of themed gear and dynamic additions that actually impact gameplay, unlike some of the franchise’s past collaborations. The highlight is the Joker Charm, which randomly grants one of twelve possible effects, mirroring Balatro’s deck-building unpredictability. This charm adds a twist to zombie-slaying by making every encounter feel a little more like a gamble.
The bundle also includes the Jimbo’s Outfit, a bold, no-nonsense costume; the Ceremonial Dagger, which boosts multipliers based on combat performance and charm destruction; and the Flying Blind Paraglider, giving players a stylish way to escape sticky situations.
Plus, two exclusive side quests round out the content drop, providing more incentive to jump back into the game.
While Techland is gearing up for its next major project, Dying Light: The Beast, this crossover shows the studio isn’t slowing down support for Dying Light 2. In fact, it’s doubling down. According to a press release, game director Tymon Smektała emphasized that the team remains committed to its promise of at least five years of post-launch support. “This summer we’re going all in for our community,” he said, highlighting the crossover and the upcoming UGC Fest celebrating modders.
This isn’t the first time Dying Light 2 has collaborated with another title, but unlike previous efforts that were mostly cosmetic, this event offers content that actively enhances the experience.
