Electronic Arts is actively exploring the possibility of adapting Apex Legends into a TV series or movie, signaling a new chapter for the battle royale franchise beyond gaming.
While nothing is officially in the works yet, EA Entertainment president Laura Miele recently confirmed the publisher is “motivated” to bring Apex Legends into the realm of linear media.
Speaking to Variety, Miele said that the game's world is filled with untapped narrative potential. The characters and backstories seen briefly in the game’s trailers and Stories from the Outlands shorts, she noted, could thrive in long-form storytelling formats.
“There’s just rich worlds and rich history with these characters and these Legends that can come to life through linear media and partnerships,” Miele explained. “We’re pretty motivated to do that, and doing it in a way that really respects and upholds the brand and the franchise.”
Talks of a screen adaptation aren’t new. Back in 2020, then-game director Chad Grenier had already floated the idea, saying "love to do" a "Netflix animated series of Apex."
This potential expansion mirrors EA’s broader transmedia strategy. The company is already working on a Sims movie in partnership with Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap and Amazon MGM Studios. EA has also confirmed early-stage development on a Mass Effect adaptation.
According to Miele, these projects are part of a larger plan to amplify their IPs across film, TV, and games simultaneously — creating what she described as a “full circle” entertainment experience.
