Electronic Arts has announced its financial performance for the most recent quarter (Q4) as well as the full fiscal year ending March 31, 2025.
The gaming giant reported total net bookings of $7.355 billion for the full year.
EA's sports games continue to be the company's biggest success story. The EA SPORTS lineup had its best year ever in terms of sales revenue. The American Football games, including College Football and Madden NFL, performed exceptionally well, bringing in over $1 billion in net bookings during the fiscal year.
The popular life simulation franchise The Sims, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in February, showed impressive double-digit growth in the last quarter.
Another standout performer was Split Fiction, the new co-op game from Hazelight Studios, which has sold nearly 4 million copies since its March launch.
The success of Split Fiction extends beyond gaming, as a film adaptation is already in development. Sydney Sweeney will star in and produce the film, which will be directed by Jon M. Chu, known for directing last year's musical hit "Wicked."
Additionally, Split Fiction is set to be a launch title for Nintendo's Switch 2 when the console releases next month.
Mobile games remain an important part of EA's business, contributing $1.1 billion to the company's net revenue in fiscal year 2025, which equals about 15% of the total.
FC Mobile continued to exceed expectations, with new player acquisition and daily active users up more than 20% compared to the previous year. CEO Andrew Wilson attributed this success to a focus on "hyperculturalisation" and a successful Team of the Year program.
Looking toward the future, EA appears confident about its upcoming releases. Wilson mentioned the company is planning to reveal a new Battlefield game this summer, calling it "a pivotal step in delivering on our next generation of blockbuster entertainment."
The new Battlefield game is on track to launch before April 2026 and will be set in the modern day. EA has been running invite-only playtests since March and plans to "continue scaling Battlefield Labs testing globally" throughout May.
For the upcoming fiscal year (2026), EA expects net bookings to be between $7.6 billion and $8 billion. The company predicts growth will come primarily from its sports games, The Sims, and new releases including Battlefield and a skating game called skate.
However, they expect some decline in older games and Apex Legends, with approximately 5 points of weakness in catalog titles and Apex Legends specifically.
While EA experienced some declines in certain financial metrics—net revenue decreased by 1% compared to fiscal year 2024, and net income fell by 12% to $1.1 billion—the company maintained strong performance overall. Gross profit increased by 1% to more than $5.9 billion.
EA has also announced its upcoming game release schedule for the first half of fiscal year 2026:
First Quarter (April-June 2025):
EA SPORTS F1 25 (releasing May 30)
Second Quarter (July-September 2025):
EA SPORTS College Football 26
EA SPORTS Madden NFL 26
EA SPORTS NHL 26
EA SPORTS FC 26
Unlike some of its competitors in the gaming industry, EA has stated it won't be raising the prices of its games. During the company's earnings call, Wilson responded to a question about price increases by saying the company aims to "deliver incredible quality and exponential value for our playerbase."
Moreover, EA mentioned that it plans to continue investing in live services games and will launch new non-annual titles in fiscal year 2027.
