EA Sports College Football has been a console-exclusive title since its return in 2024, leaving PC players completely out of the picture. That looks like it could be changing with the next installment.
A post from MUTLeaks, a leaker with a solid track record on this kind of information, points to EA Sports College Football 27 potentially landing on PC.
The evidence comes in the form of two product SKUs tied to the upcoming game: college-football-27-deluxe-early-preorder-edition-pc-ww and college-football-27-deluxe-later-preorder-edition-pc-ww. These SKUs are not a rock-solid confirmation, but they are hard to ignore.
According to Insider Gaming, bringing the game to PC was always part of the long-term plan. EA wanted College Football to sit alongside other titles in its sports lineup, such as F1, Madden NFL, and EA Sports FC, all of which are available on PC.
However, the biggest problem has been a legal one. PC gaming has a thriving modding community, and mods in sports titles often touch player likenesses, uniforms, and other licensed elements. Since the players in College Football are real, licensed individuals, that raises some serious protective concerns. Whether the solution involves in-game mod restrictions or something else entirely is still unclear.
MUTLeaks also notes that an internal and external beta is currently live in test environments, with some external testers potentially already having access to the game. The release is expected to follow a similar announcement and launch timeline to College Football 26, which launched last July. A Switch 2 version, however, is said to be unlikely at this point.
