EA Sports and Codemasters have officially announced F1 25, the latest entry in the long-running Formula 1 racing series.

The game is set to launch on May 30, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with early access kicking off on May 27 for those who grab the Iconic Edition.

This time around, the developers are going all-in on current-gen hardware, meaning no release for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.

One of the biggest highlights of F1 25 is the return of the Braking Point story mode, now in its third chapter. Fans will see familiar faces like Callie Mayer, Aiden Jackson, and Devon Butler back in action, caught up in another high-stakes battle for championship glory. There’s also a new difficulty options, making it easier for newcomers to jump in while keeping things intense for seasoned players.

My Team mode is getting its biggest shake-up since it first launched. Players will have more control than ever, balancing the challenges of running an F1 team while also competing on the track. EA Sports has promised more details on what’s changing as we get closer to launch.

On top of that, F1 25 is crossing over with the upcoming F1 The Movie. The game introduces the fictional APXGP race team, which will be available in both My Team and Driver Career modes. Plus, there will be additional post-launch content inspired by the movie to keep things fresh after release.

Under the hood, Codemasters has upgraded the game’s EGO engine, delivering better visuals, lighting, and more realistic tracks. Thanks to LIDAR technology, circuits now feel more authentic than ever. And with no last-gen limitations holding things back, the game can push graphics and performance even further.

The cover stars for F1 25 have also been revealed. The Iconic Edition will feature seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, celebrating his big switch to Ferrari for the 2025 season. Meanwhile, the Standard Edition will spotlight rising stars Oscar Piastri, Carlos Sainz, and Oliver Bearman, showcasing the future of F1.

Pre-orders come with some cool extras. The Iconic Edition includes three days of early access, exclusive Hamilton and F1 movie content, and 2025 season liveries that can also be used in F1 24’s Time Trial mode. The Standard Edition isn’t left out, offering an F1 75 Celebration Pack, an F1 World Starter Pack, and 5,000 PitCoin.

EA Sports has teased more details on gameplay improvements, handling changes, and online features in the upcoming F1 25 Deep Dive series.
