The Japanese Nintendo eShop is set to remove approximately 70 digital titles by the end of September 2025, following an announcement from Japanese publisher Entergram.
This large-scale delisting, which reportedly affects both the Nintendo Switch and upcoming Switch 2 consoles in the Japanese region, marks one of the biggest content removals by a single publisher in the platform's history.
Players have until September 30 to purchase the affected titles before they disappear from the eShop.
Once delisted, users who previously purchased the games will still be able to redownload and play them, but new purchases will no longer be possible.
Entergram didn’t provide a detailed explanation for why these titles are being removed, but reassured players that post-purchase support will continue, at least for the foreseeable future.
Interestingly, the publisher also confirmed that around 34 of these games will be transferred to other publishers. These titles will be re-released under new distribution starting October 1. A full list of the games transferring to new publishers is expected to be shared publicly closer to that date.
Among the titles set to be delisted or transferred are a number of visual novels and anime-inspired games such as Eustia of the Filthy Wings, Sakura, Moyu. –as the Night’s, Reincarnation–, and Sengoku ‡ Koihime X Otome Splendor☆Sengoku Picture Scroll Hojo Family Mayhem. Many of these games are published under the iMel Inc. and Hunex Corporation labels.
However, fans outside Japan can breathe easy — this delisting only affects the Japanese version of the eShop. According to reports, players in North America, Europe, and other regions will not be impacted, and these games will remain available in those storefronts unless noted otherwise.
It’s also worth noting that the titles will be removed from the PlayStation Store in Japan, affecting PlayStation 4 and PS Vita versions as well.
