Epic Games has announced plans to bring both its mobile game store and popular game Fortnite to iOS users in Brazil this July.

This move comes after a recent Brazilian court ruling that gave Apple 90 days to allow sideloading (installing apps from outside the App Store) in the country.

According to the announcement made by Epic Games on X (formerly Twitter), Brazilian iOS users will soon have access to Fortnite and other games through the Epic Games Store. This marks a significant development in the ongoing battle between Epic and Apple over the app distribution model.

The Brazilian judge who issued the ruling stated that "Apple has already complied with similar obligations in other countries without demonstrating significant impact or irreparable harm to its economic model." Despite this observation, Apple has stated it plans to appeal the decision (Thanks The Verge).

This isn't the first time Epic has made such a move. Last year, the company successfully brought back Fortnite and launched its mobile Epic Games Store on iOS devices in the European Union. This was possible because Apple was required to allow third-party app stores in the EU to comply with the Digital Markets Act.

Epic's mobile store expansion continued with the launch of the Epic Games Store on iPad in the EU last September. It's worth noting that while iOS access to Epic's store and Fortnite has been limited to specific regions due to legal restrictions, the company's Android offerings have been available globally.

The return of Fortnite to iOS in Brazil represents another chapter in Epic's ongoing effort to challenge Apple's app store policies around the world.
