The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) has introduced a new fantasy sports platform called the Esports World Cup Fantasy League, developed in collaboration with London-based sports tech firm Genius Sports.

This fantasy league gives fans a chance to pick their top eight teams across each game featured in the upcoming Esports World Cup, set to take place from July 7 to August 24 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

With a total prize pool of $200,000 USD, the competition adds an extra layer of engagement for spectators, as rewards will be based on leaderboard standings throughout the tournament. Interested fans can visit fantasy.esportsworldcup.com to participate.

However, as of now, the portal’s terms and conditions are still marked as “coming soon.” So, it’s a good idea to hold off on entering any personal details until those are finalized — better safe than sorry.

Genius Sports, the company behind the fantasy platform’s tech, started back in 2001 as a betting data provider and has since expanded into broader sports technology services. The company now works with leagues, sportsbooks, media outlets, and even brands to power sports experiences across the board.

This announcement follows a series of moves by the EWCF, including the reveal of the New Global Sport Conference (NGSC2025), scheduled for August 23–24 at Riyadh’s Four Seasons Hotel. EWCF also recently announced a promotional campaign with Sony focused on TEKKEN 8, and renewed its partnership with gaming chair manufacturer Secretlab.

For those unfamiliar, the Esports World Cup is a major multi-title esports event held annually during the summer. Managed by the EWCF — a non-profit organization backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund — the event is organized by ESL FACEIT Group, a company fully owned by the Saudi government’s Savvy Games Group.
