Europa Universalis 5 officially launches on November 4, 2025, bringing Paradox’s grand strategy series back with deeper systems, expanded history, and new ways to shape empires.

Paradox Interactive has built a reputation for creating some of the most detailed strategy games on PC, and Europa Universalis 5 looks like its most ambitious entry yet. Spanning five centuries of history from the Middle Ages to the Napoleonic era, the game introduces a 2000-step tech tree, a population simulation system, and estate-based politics that force you to balance the interests of nobility, clergy, and commoners. If you’ve ever played EU4, you’ll notice familiar mechanics, but this time they’re layered with more depth and a redesigned interface that aims to be friendlier for newcomers.
