Fortnite C7S4 Override Trailer Reveals Sonic, Mega Man, Mortal Kombat

Epic Games has officially dropped the trailer for Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override, a massive celebration of video game history.


The season leans fully into a “Gaming Legends” theme, packing the island with iconic characters, classic game-inspired locations, new Sprites, and gameplay mechanics pulled straight from gaming’s greatest hits.

Release Date

Override launches on August 20, 2026 (after scheduled downtime following the end of Chapter 7 Season 3 on August 19). The Battle Pass becomes available immediately at launch.


Collabs Shown in the Official Trailer

The trailer and accompanying key art put a long list of franchises front and center. Characters and elements that appear include:


  • Sonic the Hedgehog — Sonic, Tails, Dr. Eggman (Robotnik), and Shadow

  • Crash Bandicoot — Crash

  • Spyro the Dragon — Spyro

  • Persona 5 — Joker and Morgana

  • Mega Man — Mega Man (with arm cannon gameplay)

  • Pac-Man

  • Mortal Kombat — Scorpion, Raiden, and Kitana (with fighting-game arena vibes)

  • 99 Nights in the Forest (Roblox) — The Deer / Wendigo-style character

  • Tetris — Falling blocks and related elements

  • Jazz Jackrabbit (as a Sprite)

  • Fortnite’s own Geno (the season’s main antagonist, teaming up with Eggman)
